Indelible Mark

Okay, so I listened to this song 4 times today in the car and got more choked up each time. Then I came home and grabbed it on youtube watched it and just about had a complete meltdown. "Hello old friend!" my heart sings to the pretty, pretty video that I remember watching as a child. I love David's mod hair, the color of Bing's sweater and the chateau they're sitting in. I love the elegant lampshade in the background. I imagine when word got out that they were performing together, it was much like when Elton John & Eminem collaborated on the Grammy's. Both Masters of their own Universes, but Galaxies away. I love watching these crooners croon and I love the fact that they use words like "fellas". Most of all I love the lyrics.

And they told me pa-ram-pam-pam-pam
A new-born king to see pa-ram-pam-pam-pam
Our finest gifts we bring pa-ram-pam-pam-pam
Ra-pam-pam-pam, ra-pam-pam-pam

Peace on Earth, can it be
Years from now, perhaps we'll see
See the day of glory
See the day, when men of good will
Live in peace, live in peace again

Peace on Earth, can it be

Every child must be made aware
Every child must be made to care
Care enough for his fellow man
To give all the love that he can

I pray my wish will come true
For my child and your child too
He'll see the day of glory
See the day when men of good will
Live in peace, live in peace again

Peace on Earth, can it be
Can it be

It is a pretty thing. Isn't it?

Oh, yes, yes, yes to everything you've said here. This one is so special to me and always pulls at my emtions. When Betamax recorders came out and my family got one, this video was one of the first things I taped. I love this.
